Tassel 9 inches long with a 6 inch loop attached to cap button hanging off the board and adorned with gold charm year-date. A soupier tassel for graduates.
The gown or robes traditionally black, also worn in schools colors with bell-shaped sleeves. Length should be 8" above the floor preventing students tripping
The "Official" style since 1896,.colleges and universities in the United States adopted a uniform code governing academic dress.
In 1932, American Council on Education (ACE) governed the code for academic costumes and does so to this day.
